„Jeder kann friedensstiftend wirken“

HUMAN will continue in 2024

Helge Burggrabe bei NDRkultur am 10.12.2023 mit Eva Schramm im Gespräch: In recognition of the social relevance and urgency the HUMAN cultural initiative will of course continue beyond this year's "anniversary year".

The composer Helge Burggrabe initiated the HUMAN International Culture Project in 2020 in the belief that a cultural initiative can inspire a sustainable commitment to human rights in a special way. Since then, choreographers, musicians and educators have already realised around 60 individual projects in theatres, concert halls and schools with more than 5,000 participants in six countries.

The basis is his one-hour orchestral work HUMAN, which is inspired by the 30 articles of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and explores the basic needs of life such as home and foreignness, protection and defencelessness as well as love and loss. The concert premiere was performed by the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and actress Julia Jentsch in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.

„Jeder kann friedensstiftend wirken“, davon ist Helge Burggrabe überzeugt und skizziert zum 10.12.2023 im Interview seine Vision der Kulturinitiative HUMAN. (DOMRADIO)

First perspective on 2024
Projects with choreographers and orchestras are already planned for 2024 at the theatres in Bremen, Lübeck and Rostock. There will be a major community dance performance at the Bremen Theatre on 3 February 2024 under the direction of choreographers Wilfried van Poppel and Amaya Lubeigt, in in which around 100 participants in her HUMAN workshops from the different countries will interpret the HUMAN themes by dancing, with HUMAN music being performed live under the direction of Julio Férnandez.

Orchestras, dance companies and schools are invited to take up the HUMAN idea in order to promote a more peaceful coexistence and open up spaces for participation and social engagement based on UN human rights .
