Touching and Political: Concert Premiere in Berlin

Yesterday, around 700 audience members in the Berlin Philharmonie were impressed by the the HUMAN concert premiere. The conductor Catherine Larsen-Maguire with the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, Elbtonal Percussion and pianist John Kameel Farah created a colourful and richly nuanced interpretation of the 13-part of the 13-part HUMAN orchestral suite by Helge Burggrabe.

The themes of the human being that are present in this work were continued and deepened with readings by actress Julia Jentsch. Jentsch. She performed powerful passages from the UN Charter of Human Rights as well as lyrical texts of great social relevance.

It has been a touching concert evening that should be performed by many orchestras and in many places in these turbulent times - as an impulse for a more humane and peaceful coexistence!

The music journalist Uwe Friedrich attended the premiere and reported on November 3rd, 2023 in Deutschlandfunk.
