As part of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck’s central commemoration of the end of the war 80 years ago, excerpts from the major inclusive HUMAN performance Lübeck 2024 will be shown in St Mary’s Church on 8 May.
Members of the premiere will be performing the HUMAN themes of ‘needs’, ‘freedom’, ‘protection’ and ‘equality’ to HUMAN music by Helge Burggrabe. Katja Grzam and Charlotte Baumgart are choreographing the programme – as they did for the premiere in 2024.
“The commemorative programme combines words, music and artistic contributions. Among others, speeches are planned by Mayor Jan Lindenau for the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, by Provost Petra Kallies for the church district and by Ilhan Isözen and Heidemarie Kugler-Weiemann for the House of Cultures. (…) The commemoration will be followed by the accompanying programme “8 May 2025 – Remembering for the Future”.” (cf. press release from the Hanseatic City of Lübeck)
Note
The world premiere of the HUMAN production by Lübeck Theatre, the Lübeck Music and Art School, the Lübeck Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Mixed Pickels e.V. association took place in spring 2024 to great acclaim.
